When asked if he had ever eaten a turkey burger on last week’s episode of Parks and Recreationour hero Ron Swanson replied: “Is that a fried turkey leg inside a grilled hamburger? If so, yes. Delicious.” And because we believe everything Ron Swanson says, we decided to make one. Below, a photo essay of the epic construction of the surprisingly delicious Ron Swanson Turkey Burger — plus the recipe, in case you want to try it out for yourself.

Ron Swanson, of “Parks and Recreation,” loves bacon-wrapped shrimp. It’s “my number one food wrapped around my number three favorite food,” which is but one of the myriad reasons why he’s our favorite mustachioed guy on primetime TV. Click on the video to hear him wax philosophical on all of his beloved foods (which are mostly steak and whiskey).

  7. Woodwork

Last fall actor and woodworker NIck Offerman (NBC’s Parks and Recreation) found himself with some time to kill in New York City while his wife was working on Broadway, so he decided to build a couple of Bear Mountain Boats canoes. After reading Canoecraft, Nick produced this canoe building video as a companion to Canoecraft. This sample focuses on Planking. Visit for more info on this DVD.
